Festive fun at Marine Hall

Christmas Market

This weekend’s Christmas Market at Marine Hall got everyone in the Christmas spirit as thousands of visitors came to enjoy a family day out.

Visitors sampled the huge array of food and drink on offer while children decorated gingerbread and visited Santa in his grotto.

The highlight of the day was the Man V Chilli challenge hosted by Dare U Foods. Eight brave contestants took on six rounds of eating the worlds spiciest chillis with Damien Nagle crowned the winner in a timed tie break round!

Janet Heald, Events Manager at Marine Hall comments, “The day was fabulous, several thousand people came along and considering it was such a ghastly day ouside we were thrilled by the support from local people. For the first time we had Thornton Cleveleys Brass Band on stage and Man V Chilli certainly drew in the crowds!

“Next year’s summer Food Festival is already booked for August 14 and many of the stalls from the Christmas Market will be returning.”
