Dates are set for Fridays 1 July and 14 October. Coming up in July is the hilarious Alfie Moore who will be joined by Steve Shanyaski, Allyson Smith and MC Caimh McDonnell.
Headlining the night is Alfie Moore - an original and distinctive comedian with his niche area as a serving police sergeant. He came slightly later to comedy and brings a wealth of insights and comedy moments from his eighteen years on the beat, where a keen sense of humour has been the key to his success and survival! Born and raised on a council estate in Sheffield he was an apprentice in the steelworks before joining the police where he has served for eighteen years, gathering plenty of hilarious stories that you just couldn’t make up.
He has an observational comedic style, which lends itself to witty, and sometimes gritty, anecdotes based on everyday modern policing. He also is an adept socio-political commentator and weaves this all together with his take on the ‘comedy gold’ of life.
A regular at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Alfie debuted his new stand-up show ‘The Naked Stun’ in 2014 where it was a total sell-out for the full festival run. He has also supported Sarah Millican, Russell Kane and Milton Jones on their national comedy tours.
Next up is Steve Shanyaski. His whirlwind performances and thrilling routines have constantly proven a hit with even the quietest crowds, the key to his act being his energy and silliness. Steve has performed his comedy throughout the world, to an audience as diverse as bikers in a field, to royalty in a theatre, and never ceases to go down a storm.
Alfie and Steve will be joined by Allyson Smith. This former school teacher has worked her way across Canada and is now taking her craft to the UK. Using her sassy blend of in-your-face stand-up and hilariously insightful commentary, she is fast becoming a fan favourite at comedy clubs across the country.
The evening will be compered by Caimh McDonnell - the white-haired Irishman whose name nobody can pronounce. He performs regularly at all the major comedy clubs and has also performed internationally, doing stand-up tours of the Far East, the Middle East and once, the near east (Norwich). As well as comedy, Caimh is in great demand as a writer for TV. He has recently worked on the hit BBC2 show ‘The Sarah Millican Television Programme’ and the SKY sports/comedy panel show ‘A League of Their Own’. He also works as a children’s TV writer and was BAFTA nominated for the CBBC animated series ‘Pet Squad’ which he created.
Brought to you by Jongleurs, the UK's number one comedy company, this bunch will have you rolling in the aisles with laughter. It’s a great Friday night out so grab a group of friends and enjoy the funniest night out in town. Tickets are just £12 or £10 each if you book at table of ten or more.
