Coming up at Wyre’s Theatres

Little Theatre Film Club

If you’re looking for great entertainment and things to do this year, don’t forget to check out what’s on at Wyre’s two great theatres, Marine Hall, Fleetwood and Thornton Little Theatre.

There’s a great line up at Marine Hall with a mix of events and performances and first up is the Fleetwood Beer Festival on Thursday 6 – Saturday 8 February. Enjoy beers from around the world plus fruit beers, ciders, wines, live music and great food.

The venue is also hosting its first ever Wedding Open Day Sunday 23 February. With plenty of local wedding suppliers showcasing everything you need for your big day it’s the perfect opportunity to be inspired, meet the team and take a tour of the venue.

Great British rock band Toploader are performing their top hits and new music on Saturday 1 March and will be supported by Preston born singer/songwriter Mike Dignam - a brilliant opportunity to see two great live music acts.

Kicking off on Friday 14 March, comedy is back with the Marine Hall Comedy Club. Enjoy a hilarious night out with the best stand up around, with further comedy club nights taking place on 9 May and 11 July. Plus, one of Britain’s most talented and best loved comedians Billy Pearce is gracing the stage with his live tour on Saturday 26 April.

You can enjoy all the The Manfreds’ biggest hits on Saturday 22 March including 5-4-3-2-1Pretty Flamingo and Do Wah Diddy Diddy, or if rock is more your thing, celebrate the glory days of Queen with leading tribute band The Bohemians on Sunday 20 April. Or why not take a step back into 1920s New York City and through the doors of Harlem's hottest nightclub, with Swinging at the Cotton Club on Saturday 17 May featuring The Jiving Lindy Hoppers & Harry Strutters Hot Rhythm Orchestra.

For children, award winning theatre company Inspector Sands is bringing its delightful performance Rockpool to Marine Hall on Friday 6 June, it’s perfect for kids aged 3 and over and tickets include a sea creatures arts and craft workshop at Rossall Observation Point on the same day. Direct from CITV The Sooty Show is also coming to Fleetwood in a fabulous new show for the whole family on Wednesday 30 July, with discounts for family tickets this is a summer holiday treat not to be missed.

The Fylde Coast Food and Drink Festival returns again this year on Sunday August 17 with tasty treats and delicious drinks by producers from all over the region and the Fylde Folk Festival, now in its 42nd year, returns to Marine Hall once more on Friday 29 to Sunday 31 August.

Back by popular demand, Trio Entertainment are pleased to announce that they will be bringing their fantastic pantomime back to Fleetwood and this year’s magical story will be Cinderella. Further details including an announcement about the cast are to follow but why not book early and grab the seats you want. The panto will run from Thursday 11 to Sunday 14 December and tickets are on sale now.

Over at Thornton Little Theatre the film club continues on Valentine’s Day with a matinee showing of Casablanca at 3pm followed by everyone’s romantic favourite Bridget Jones’s Diary at 7.30pm. So, why not bring along your loved one or gather a group of friends for an alternative valentine’s night out. In March there will be showings of another two classics The Wizard of Oz and Kes on Sunday 9th with further films to be announced. 

There’s also a wonderful interactive performance for young children on Sunday 27 April, Three Colours, which uses light, puppets, music and dance to tickle the imagination of the young.

Blackpool band Troubadour and Genesis tribute band Mama are bringing live music to the venue on Friday 2 May and Saturday 26 July respectively, plus Andrew Dee is set to return to Thornton with his amazing demonstration of Clairvoyance on Saturday 10 May.
