Valentine's Day Film Club at Thornton Little Theatre
Published: Tuesday, 11 February 2014
Looking for something a little bit different to do this Valentine's Day? Why not check out two great films showing at Thornton Little Theatre.
Grab a group of friends or bring along someone special and soak up some good old romance with a choice of two classic films showing on the big screen at Thornton Little Theatre as part of the brand new film club.
First up on Friday 14 February is Casablanca at 3pm, one of the most instantly recognisable and quotable films ever made. Love brings Rick Blaine in to the centre of a conflict he has gone to great lengths to avoid. Bogart and Bergman give the most memorable performances of their careers in a film that effortlessly blends romance, terror and action.
Then, celebrating all the singletons out there and the quest for true love is Bridget Jones's Diary at 7.30pm. A classic rom-com the film perfectly casts Renee Zellweger as the plucky heroine in a quest to take control of her life. Everyone's favourite spinster, Bridget struggles through the social minefield of her 30s, supported by four indispensable friends and a bottle of chardonnay.
The Little Theatre Film Club has been launched to bring the best of world cinema to your local theatre in Thornton.
