BBC Introducing Lancashire returns to Thornton Little Theatre
Published: Friday, 21 March 2014
We are delighted to be hosting a second BBC Introducing evening at Thornton Little Theatre next month, this time featuring the brilliant Rae Morris.
Sometime in 2010 Sean McGinty (the
presenter of BBC Introducing Lancashire) got a message on Myspace from a
Blackpool teenager asking if he would listen to her song. It wasn't recorded
terribly well but the voice and the song stood out a golden mile. Since then
Rae's music has been played scores of times on BBC Introducing Lancashire,
she's performed live sessions, played the BBC Introducing stage at the
Reading/Leeds festival, been played on Radio 1 and 2 and she's also worked
very, very hard on her live show and songwriting. Her first ever single on the
label Atlantic Records comes out on Monday 14 April with a debut album to
follow later in the year.
This could not be a better time to see Rae Morris who will be fresh from supporting Bombay Bicycle Club on their arena tour. This is a story of hard work paying off for a very talented woman. The music you'll hear on this night is of such a quality, and you'll be able to appreciate it more in a lovely theatre made for such an intimate gig. The performance will be recorded for a future BBC Introducing Lancashire broadcast.
