Taking place on Sunday 30 November from 10am to 4pm there’ll be delicious food and drink as well as traditional handmade gifts and unique craft items, so why not enjoy a glass of mulled wine and pick up some treats for your festive celebrations.
This year there’s plenty for families to enjoy in the kids zone. See your little one’s face light up with a visit to Santa in his grotto, have a go at decorating some Christmas gingerbread with Enticing Cakes or try your hand at festive cupcake decorating with A Slice of Heaven. Artist Shane Johnston will be back with his amazing Splodge-A-Matic painting machine giving children the chance to create their very own Christmas glitter and gold painting to take home.
For foodies the talented chefs at Twelve Restaurant will be on stage throughout the day with some festive cooking demonstrations. Paul Moss, chef at Twelve Restaurant comments “We are delighted to once again be working with Marine Hall at their Christmas Market. Our demonstrations on stage at the venue’s Food Festival in August worked really well so we will be doing the same type of thing at the market along the theme of Christmas made simple. Once again we will do three demonstrations to showcase a starter, main course and dessert. We will be giving visitors lots of tips and showing some simple techniques to help make Christmas day run smoothly.”
There will also be lots of tasty food to try and buy on the day. Why not stock up your cheeseboard at the County Cheeses stand where you’ll find over 50 flavours of cheese including sticky toffee, curry, sundried tomato, lemon and chilli to name a few! Then pick up some delicious chutneys relishes and hot sauces from Fat Jax Chutneys and some handmade award winning jams, jellies, chutneys, marmalades by Preesall Preserves.
Market favourite Shirley’s Pies will be back with their huge range of delicious homemade pies and pastries whilst newcomers The Harty Food Company will be showcasing their pies, puddings, cakes and slices all made from delicious local ingredients. Visitors will find it hard to resist the tempting breads, donuts, butter and jams on offer at the Continental Breads stall as well as the delicious pure Lancashire honey that’s on offer from Crossmoor Honey Farm.
Coffee lovers will be spoilt for choice! You can enjoy specialist coffees, teas and chocolate drinks from the Coffee Carriage's innovative and wide ranging menu including some extra special Christmas spiced flavours, or why not pick up some coffee beans and ground coffee as well as cups, glassware, accessories and gift packs from the Lytham Coffee Company.
For those with a sweet tooth there’s plenty to choose from. Chocolate Magic will be back with a huge range of handmade artisan Belgian chocolate bars, Coppice Cupcakes will be selling sweet treats including brownies, meringues, cakes and traybakes, gingerbread, mince pies and Christmas cakes plus a Slice of Heaven will be selling their colourful macarons. Oh My Cupcake are once again bringing a range of delicious cakes, cupcakes, pastries, cookies, truffles and desserts and this year new exhibitor Enticing Cakes will be joining the market with their celebration cakes including Christmas themed cakes and gingerbread houses.
If you appreciate fine wines be sure to visit the Pieroth and Silver Fox Wines stands where you can stock up your wine collection or buy the gift of a home wine tasting package. If you are looking for something a little bit different for your Christmas drinks make sure you visit Strawberry Bank Liqueurs and their collection of damson, sloe and blackberry gin plus strawberry vodka and blackberry liqueurs.
There’ll be some tasty hot food cooking on the day including wood fired pizzas by Kelly’s Kitchen, hot sausage sandwiches on crusty baguettes by Porcus, a hog roast by the Striped Pig plus food festival favourite the Thai Pie Company will be back with their range of delicious hot pies.
If you are looking for Christmas gift ideas there will be plenty of inspiration at the market with all sorts of unique items, from beautiful furniture and wooden accessories by Ancient Mariner Furniture to handmade walking sticks crafted by Brian Mallinson to delightful mohair bears by Blakeley Bears.
Wood turner, George Purves will be exhibiting his range of fine hand turned wooden crafts including bowls and platters, salt and pepper mills, cake stands, egg stands and pot purri bowls while Mydas Touch will be bringing along a selection of handcrafted illustrated clocks, coasters and kitchen boards.
You can treat loved ones to a healthier 2015 with gifts from the Forever Health and Wellness range of Aloe Vera products and beauty gifts, or why indulge in a range of handcrafted vegan soaps by The Little Blue Hen?
Treat yourself to some bespoke jewellery handmade by Rouge of Lytham or pick up a lovely watercolour or contemporary canvas artwork by local artist Judy Garside. Local author Gemma Lees will be at the event with her delightful rhyming children’s picture book Ethan Elephant and Friends – a perfect gift for children under five and don’t forget the pet in your life – there will be plenty of presents at the Market Pet Supplies stand!
To round things off Thornton Cleveleys Brass Band will be at the event keeping the crowds entertained with fabulous festive music. Entry is free and there’s plenty of free parking right outside so come along and enjoy a great Christmassy day out.
