Marine Hall, Fleetwood and Thornton Little Theatre have announced a cracking line up of shows especially for families and children that includes live music, pantomime and big names from kids’ TV.
First up is Pop Factor – The Concert at Marine Hall on Thursday 26 March at 6.30pm. An action packed tribute to the very best of now, it’s a celebration of top artists and the biggest chart hits. All the smash hits from your favourite pop stars will be put together to create your very own pop concert! Totally live and interactive, featuring a cast of top professional performers the show will have Directioners, Mixers, Katy Cats, Belibers and Swifties dancing and singing all night. Everyone can meet the cast and pose for photos after the show, plus there’ll be competitions with prize giveaways making this a must-see concert.
At Easter, Magic Light Productions presents Little Red Riding Hood at Marine Hall on Wednesday 1 April at 2.30pm.This hilarious adaptation of the traditional story tells of how Granny Hood who lives in a cottage in the woods visits Red Riding Hood and unknowingly delivers her a Magic Red Cloak created by the Good Fairy of the forest. Meanwhile in another part of the wood a suave and sophisticated wolf is looking for something appetising to eat! There is only one person who can save the day - Little Red Riding Hood! However she is not alone, she is accompanied on her adventure by her best friends Muddles and Russell Sprout. Will they save the day and make it to a happily ever after…? Find out in this fun filled show for all the family.
There’s more half term fun in May when The Chuckle Brothers arrive at Marine Hall with their brand new show – The Chuckles of Oz! Join brothers Paul and Barry on Friday 29 May at 2pm as they meet Dorothy, The Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion and the Scarecrow in this sensational new version of the familiar Wizard of Oz story. There’ll be plenty of audience participation, laugh out loud comedy, spectacular sets and costumes and special effects, don’t miss your chance to see the two funniest brothers on TV at your local theatre.
In summer Basil Brush is bringing his Full on Fox Tour to Marine Hall on Friday 7 August. Basil has celebrated over 50 years in entertainment and The Basil Brush Show on BBC TV has been seen by millions of viewers all over the globe from 1968 through to today. The show was BAFTA nominated and voted best comedy show on TV. Now, Britain's most loveable fox is back on the road along with his TV chum Mr Stephen (aka Chris Pizzey). Together they will take you on a journey of laughs, storytelling and song in a brand new specially written live stage show packed with fun and excitement. Come and join in the mayhem and meet Basil and Mr Stephen after the show.
Meanwhile over at Thornton Little Theatre Marty Macdonald’s Farm is back with a brand new show Pongo’s Party on Friday 28 August. It’s Pongo’s birthday he's been dropping hints to his friends all year so is looking forward to a fantastic party... but the trouble is, nobody seems to remember! Molly-Moo the Cow is making a mess baking, Sheena the Sheep is rehearsing with her band, Crafty the Crow is in the middle of decorating and even Marty MacDonald is tied up with his parcels. Come and help make Pongo's Party a day to remember by joining in a show full of fun, songs and laughter – take part in the town’s biggest ever game of pass-the-parcel and join the theatre's largest ever children's band!
