Happy Days are Here Again!

Happy Days

Happy Days were certainly here again at Thornton Little Theatre this week as this live show paid a visit as part of its nationwide tour.

A first class production, it brought back nostalgia at its best with hits from the 40s, 50s and 60s teamed with fabulous costumes, compere Neil sands and excellent singers Gemma Turner and Angie Diggins (who won Stars in Their Eyes as Sarah Brightman).

Hits in the first half included those made famous by the likes of the Andrews Sisters, Marty Wilde and Adam Faith while the second half started with the rock and roll era of Bill Hayley going right through to the Beatles. The finale was a tribute to the armed forces with lots of wartime favourites. The final number of We'll Meet Again certainly rang true and the standing ovation at the end was no more than this hard working cast deserved.
