Celebrity, TV personality, X Factor finalist, winner of ITV’s Dancing on Ice, actor and singer – Ray is heading to Lancashire on his UK tour for a special performance at Marine Hall and is offering one local band or artist the chance to perform on the bill in a bid to support local music talent.
So far this year Ray has enjoyed sell out tour dates and has headlined Leeds Pride, where thousands descended onto Millennium square to watch him give an electric performance. The show at Marine Hall takes place on Saturday 17 October at 7.30pm and the chosen band/artist will be performing a 25 minute set, they will need to arrive at the venue for approximately 4pm for a sound check.
Ray Quinn is a British singer/songwriter and occasional actor known for wowing the public with his boundless talent for singing, dancing, acting and pretty much everything in between. Ray has featured heavily in the media after being on X Factor Finals, winning ITV’s Dancing on Ice, winning ITV’s Get Your Act Together and generally being a lovable TV personality. He is now back in the studio, where he belongs, writing, singing and recording for his new album.
Ray will be putting on a fantastic show as always with a mixture of jazz swing and some brand new material. The tour across the UK follows a busy 2014 for the born entertainer who, following his first platinum selling album ‘Doing it My Way’, has spent the last year recording his new music and working with some of the most renowned musicians in the world. Ray is set to wow the nation once again with some brand new songs written with an in house team of song writers and producers in London’s Kings Cross.
Alongside his Dare to Dream tour, Ray is currently recording his album which will be a massive leap away from his trademark swing and jazz and with a more upbeat and modern feel to it. He has been just finished playing a lead role in the Judy Garland Song Book, in which he starred alongside Judy Garland’s daughter Lorna Luft and in reviews has been praised exceptionally - even likened to Gene Kelly! Ray has also released his first book ‘This Time Round’ which was in the finals for the People’s Book Prize, televised live on SKY News.
Speaking about the tour, Ray comments, “After the success of my first album I've had time to grow as an artist. I'm now doing songs that I’m writing from my experiences and through maturity in the industry. Alongside a great team of producers and writers, I’m helping to produce the music I want - taking myself towards a new direction, creating songs that move people and reaching out to a wider demographic. To be taking my love for music out on the road again, I'm very excited. I’m really looking forward to coming to Fleetwood, the tour has been amazing so far and I know that everyone will enjoy it, I’ve got some brand new songs to show you too! I’m right at home singing live on stage so it will be as much as a treat for me as it will my fans. This is my passion and I cannot wait!”
