It’s almost time for the annual Christmas Market at Marine Hall, Fleetwood and this year there’s lots of new additions to the event for you to enjoy.
Taking place on Sunday 29 November, from 10am – 4pm, entry is free and with over 50 exhibitors it’s perfect for picking up all your festive food and gifts.
Held outdoors along the colonnade and inside the beautiful theatre, the market will be filled with traditional handmade gifts, unique craft items and delicious food and drink - everything you need for your Christmas celebrations.
The best of local independent traders will be selling gifts for all the family with individual handcrafted items and one of a kind pieces. Why not treat yourself to a glass of mulled wine while you browse the stalls and stock up on tasty treats for Christmas time. Choose food for the big day while you fill up your cheeseboard, grab some tasty chutneys and stock up on wines, beers and ciders.
You can also enjoy some delicious hot food for lunch from one of the many hot food street vendors outside. From paella to hog roast to BBQ, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
Brand new for this year is the Man V Chilli eating contest hosted by Dare U Foods. 10 brave contestants will be going up on stage to compete to be crowned the Chilli Champion!
There will be a series of rounds starting with Dare U Foods' mildest chilli sauces, progressing though to the spiciest raw chillis! Come along to watch – see who can really handle the heat!
There will also be demonstrations taking place on stage throughout the day including wine tasting and cake making. Plus the fabulous Thornton Cleveleys Brass Band will also be performing throughout the day with music to get everyone in the Christmas spirit! It's a great day out that's guaranteed to get you in the festive mood!
Janet Heald, Events and Front of House Manager at Marine Hall comments, “We are really excited about this year’s event. We are welcoming back lots of our regular exhibitors but we have plenty of new stalls too. It’s great to keep building on our success and this year we are inviting a number of our exhibitors to take the stage to present their produce and give the audience some tips on how to make the most of their Christmas celebrations.
“We are very much looking forward to our first ever Man V Chilli contest. We’ve had lots of interest and have several contestants already signed up. There’s room for a few more so if anyone out there thinks they can take on the challenge, they can put their name down by calling our box office.”
